Designing a Monaco Level, Dev Diary 7: Third Floor Prototype, Level Prototype Completed!
Floor 3 has had one of the quicker turnarounds for this project. I had had in mind a classroom layout, as the level, overall, is set just as much in the International University of Monaco as it is in the Stade Louis II. The classroom feel was one of the quicker things to implement, but I had trouble both filling in the rooms themselves, and in deciding what to do with the rest of the floor space
I eventually decided on devoting most of the space to either function as “server rooms” or as lounges of various sorts. The classrooms themselves host at least one of the objective items, and maybe a few other secrets, to boot. As my previous post indicates, I’m still rather fond of the pressure plate puzzle in the middle of the level; primarily so because it just clicked towards the end of the process and was actually one of the easiest bits to implement.
